“Live in Texas” is Volume 2 of a six-CD Legacy Collection created to celebrate, disseminate, and honor the music of Tim Henderson – a phenomenal songwriter and balladeer whose songs were held in high regard by legendary musicians including Tom Paxton, Allen Damron, Kate Wolf, Stan Rogers, Peter Yarrow, and Townes Van Zandt.

Gathered over the years at festivals, house concerts, bars, and studios, these recordings take us on a journey into the kaleidoscopic world of Tim Henderson – genius, poet, storyteller, seeker, jokester. Our goal has been to help Tim’s songs, tales, and spirit remain — both for those of us who loved him and for new listeners as well.

Volume 2 aims to capture the energy and brilliance of Tim Henderson’s live performances. Always at home on a stage, from the tender age of two Tim would confidently break out into a rousing chorus of “You are my Sunshine” to roomfuls of astonished adults. Included here are recorded comments from Steve Fromholz (poet laureate of Texas), and Rod Kennedy (founder and longtime producer of the Kerrville Music Festivals). “Live in Texas” showcases Tim’s razor sharp wit, with anecdotes from the master storyteller himself.
